On March 12 2020, NEC announced that it had commissioned the development of a IT/IoT security human resources development program for recurring human resources aimed at career advancement, and that it had developed an education program together with Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) and Cyber Risk Intelligence Center (CRIC).

This educational program develops contents for developing human resources who understand IT/IoT utilization and risks, and who can carry out security measures for design, construction, and operation while understanding the characteristics of each industrial field.

Specifically, the program consists of 3 stages: “online desk-based learning”, “exercises using actual equipment” and “learning based on actual examples of use at the workplace of a company”. The program aims to establish education and training programs that enable recurring employees who aim to advance their careers to acquire practical knowledge and skills.

The developed education program has been verified over a 5-month period from September 2019 to the end of January 2020, and the results of the program are expected to be released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Fiscal Year 2020.
