Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. announced the “Oasys with Transitions” contact lenses by its Acuvue brand will become available in select stores in Japan starting from December 12 2019.

The first of its kind “Acuvue Oasys with Transitions” contact lens is designed to protect eyes and help recover from the stressful impact of bright light.
The changing structure of a photochromic molecule indicates the change in lens color.
It is based on photochromic technology developed jointly with Transitions Optical Limited, a world leader in the field. A photochromic molecule embedded in a contact lens makes it darken when outdoors and returns the lens to clear state when indoors, i.e. the lenses automatically adapt to changing light, thereby reducing exposure to bright light.
